Kids! Ready, set, sew! almost

July 19th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Here in the studio this week the kids are excited and have been busy working on the first bag for the felt flower bag pattern due to be released in a couple of days.

The bag came out adorable and my project coordinator had lots of fun working on this bag.

felt bag

She was so proud when it was done. If you could only have seen the huge smile on her face. This pattern takes you through everything from how to do a blanket stitch, to lining the bag. And is good for ages 1o+ . It is also a great project for beginner sewers of any age.

It was so adorable when it was done I wanted to carry it. I think I will have to make one for myself.

It will be available on the site in a couple of days. You can either purchase it, or get it free by signing up for the Kids Korner newsletter list. Details will be posted soon!

This list will keep you informed of all thats new at Kids Corner. I hope to add a couple of patterns a month to Kids Korner. I would love to see children have some great quality projects to work on. And we will have a special gallery at Kids Korner where we will show the projects you create from our patterns. My daughter always wants to know why she cant put her art online like I do. I am sure lots of kids would like to see their creations online. With the aid of parents we will post your projects on the site. More info on that in a few days.

I also plan to offer kits to make the projects at kids korner and the fantastic rainbow straps will also be available in my store soon. So if you arent close to a place to purchase the necessary items to make fun projects, you will be able to buy a kit.

I really think its great that you are teaching hand stitching to the kids. What better to help ensure that hand work and art doesn’t fall by the wayside of technology!

    Thanks Tina,
I hope to inspire and encourage young people to take up sewing and enjoy the many things it has to offer. I have enjoy it my whole life and I have always loved hand sewing.
I plan to develop several patterns this year that bring the art of sewing to lots of new beginners
