how to make a french knot

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Bring your thread up through your fabric and wrap the thread around the needle 3 times

Be sure to keep the thread you wrapped around the needle taught as you put it back through the fabric.

Insert the needle back through the fabric keeping the thread taught

You should now have a knot like this

These are pretty easy to make, the most important part is keeping the wrapped thread taught, if it loosens too much you could wind up with a knotted stringy mess rather than a neat french knot.

A bit of practice and you will be making french knots in no time!
