I just love applique

March 21st, 2008 · 1 Comment

It is one of my favorite ways to make a design. I love hand appliqué, but I find that my mind works to fast and I just cant get that done quick enough. I save hand appliqué for my personal quilt making. That is truly a labor of love.

Raw edge appliqué actually works better for me because it allows me to do any shape no matter how odd easily. It works with my funky style and I also like all the decorative stitching that I add to my designs when I do raw edge. There are so many more options for designs when you applique too.

All kinds of flowers and garden designs, just about anything you can think of. There are many books on the market today that will show you different ways to approach applique and I think we each have to find the one that works for us and the project at hand.

I recently came across this blog All About Applique where you can find a wealth of information on applique. From book reviews, to a list of applique designers, info about needle turn applique, photo tutorials and much much more. So if you ever wished you could do applique or just wanted to learn about all the ins and outs of applique then you should check out the All About Applique Blog there is a wealth of information.
